...World New York, a site I'd never ever heard of, seems to have an abundant offering of info...
...Noam Chomsky has his say...
...Confusion and misunderstandings are bound to mount; "Palestinians were celebrating the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the palestinian city,jenin"...BUT someone on the same site claims the pictures are from 1991. Anyhow the cheering group is small, so the significance of those images shouldn't be put out of proportion. Whatever the case, some will celebrate.

The Guardian has organised information with care.
And more eyewitnesses...

I know this posting thing could be endless, but these sources have well organised info, which can help. Although some sites provide a lot of links and text, I've still found it difficult to get good sources.

And on a different subject:
'plagiarism begins at home', wrote F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife Zelda who noticed how extenisvely the author borrowed her writings.

police state?
In a floor speech on Thursday, Sen. Judd Gregg (R-New Hampshire)
called for a global prohibition on encryption products without
backdoors for government surveillance. New laws that were
unthinkable just three days ago are, suddenly, entirely plausible

Textism: "I wrote and deleted a thousand paragraphs today: love letters to impotent rage and monumental sadness"

"In the city of York, there will be a great collapse.
Twin brothers torn apart by chaos.
While the fortress fall, the great leader will succumb,
the third big war will begin
when the big city is burning..."

[dj] encouraged us to voice out our feelings over Tuesday's events.
I think he's right because that's what I've looked for for the last few days: familiar voices talking of their feelings and reactions to the attacks. I've roamed the internet not as much for news than people.
I checked out Douglas Coupland's book tour diaries, Neil Gaiman's journal, saw Momus standing on his roof looking at the burning World Trade Centre, came here to look at idgrid.org, checked John Kottke's latest words and other weblogs and discussion boards.
Kottke has compiled an excellent collection of links to stories from people.
As to my feelings: everything is vulnerable, and the attacks are worrying, cruel and saddening. It is felt even here, faraway in Helsinki.
I don't exactly know why I'm looking to hear of people's experiences, but somehow hearing how various people near or far from New York reacted helps piece together the catastrophe, helps realise what happened...

and it also gives some idea how the attacks shook everyday life all over North America.

Let not panic ...the attack is over.
Think about it for a second. Wars are reality on daily basis around the world. We only notice it when it happens closer to home. Panic!

Heads will roll? let?s just hope that this is not a match that will start a bigger fire. (?although it was a pretty big match).

What is the world coming to!
The television footage of the U.S. trade Center
/Pentagon attack I witnessed this morning [on t.v.]
was one of the most shocking events I have ever seen.
This is a horrible tragedy. I cannot believe my eyes.
Hundreds of thousands of people have perished -for what.
Are U.S. policies in the Mideast to blame?
What are the global implications of these events?
I just read, that this terrible event is considered
as being the worst attack on the U.S. since
Pearl Harbor.

My heart goes out to all that perished.

[I encourage others of idgrid to voice their opinions
on this shocking story that has undoubtedly been
felt around the world].

What can we learn from a culture that habitually negotiates

We're also concerned about what kind of person you become
when you use it. Does it bring us together, or draw us apart?"
