it seems that blogger decided to publish my incomplete posting after it had lingered unpublished but 'posted' for long enough. well, fine, i meant to make some corrections and additions to the text, but I wouldn't remember what anymore anyhow. I think I was going to delete the bit about 'what office workers do', but I like [j]'s answer, so good thing it's in there.
I also agree that companies invite others than their own workers to enjoy the surrounding areas of their office mansions - and those areas are probably not intended to be enjoyed, they just come in handy when you need to have the secret discussion with someone at work and can't afford the walls having ears - or something like that.
