In the article I recently wrote for RE: on freelancers in new media, one of the guys I interviewed had the idea that there should be a freelancer-website/-database listing various freelancers in the field. This would help them find each other e.g. when they need someone to collaborate on a project or easier for employers to find people to get the job done. Organised networking in short.
