yea, the library doesn't only have to be design specific. If we post enough entries then we can start creating headings. I use idgrid as a reference and research source sometimes. I look back on old links to information for some of my projects, or to the link section about competitions etc.
idgrid as an information hub would be interesting - especially with many people posting different information - and it'd be a quality source of information because we end up filtering what's interesting.
[j] the library is an excellent idea. it came about other times in our talks here. yes it would be interesting to share the knowlege of the books. lately I have been reading on old school science-fiction - silveberg, gibson and spinard / i enjoy the manufactured utopic or not / future world dreams.
as far as design specific books i don't have any at hand but i can go through my library and find what is significat or interesting. i will speak to [m] as we have to update the site - it is due :) and we will make sure the library will be put in place. [jm] thanks for the text update in the members section. cheers. and a good morning in hkl. woot woot !! for MOSTEST Design team // good work :: keep it stylin' !! 27.2.03
What kind of books have you guys been reading lately?
(and find interesting to share...) I've found this one to be eye opening: Interface: An approach to design by Gui Bonsiepe Rating: four stars **** Comments: A compilation of articles dealing with the subject of interface and how it has branched off from Industrial Design. I found Gui Bonsiepe's writing style to be controversial while not sticking to the I.D. subject for too long. A good read for those who want to touch upon interface work; whether for software, web, or product design. We should have a book list, with comments under the link. If others also read the book, they can post their comments as well. 25.2.03
Hey, I'm just glad to back into idgrid's blogging, cheers.
I see the point in a forum, but agree with [j] that right now this format seems just fine for _backyard / _project. If the discussion's tempo increases we can think again, but so far 'free' sounds superior to '$150 / year' :) 24.2.03
yes [j] thats quite right. so... i say for now we just follow as usual and we see how it goes. we need ignition. lets find the recepie first, then get the ingredients and make some backyard business. idgrid_backyard ... here it comes.
went north with [v] yesterday. amazing. we were planing to go to the blue - but then... the roads were closed north west of 400. too bad we didnt' have the digital at hand so we can snap some pictures of the nortland snow plains. so we turned around and right and made it to horseshoe. small hill with quality snow. the killerloop rental board was flexing like jello - and made for some good sliding. also , thumbs up for the rossi step ins - no hassle business, quick release and quality components. [v] was melting the snow with his burton bullet. so we said we'll do it again before the snow goes. again - thanks to [v] for all technical support :)> |
