:: sunday badass registry key hunt & destruction
if you are a paranoid freak like me (this is [d] speaking) :> you will want to do this. sunday afternoon - what better thing to do than to stay indoors and back up data. done. ok - so i wanted to see what trace logs virscans and other monsters that got into my computer for the past 3 months that i have been so busy (why?) the only thing i used it for - to check my e-mail and to crunch various folding@home data. btw. look up team 32677 on folding.stanford.edu so i ran this app called addware from lavasoft. and did a search and find through my registery keys. i was expecting more... to my surprise i found 3 illegal entries in registry + 21 active cookies. now one of them is genuine spyware / alexa. basically tracks down what you search for, websites you visit - feeds of your cookies info and other bad ass things. cookies do the same. some are worse then others... lavasoft makes this software available free for non-commercial use. if you want to clean up your system - download addware and run it. at least your system will be clean for awhile. if you do this often you minimize the chances of your system "acting weird" aka unexplainable windows specific behaviour. so this was my little writing for the day.
